WELCOME TO THE SAP SUPPORT WORLD
You are receiving this e-mail, because you are a Business Objects customer and within your existing contractual relationship and because we, as the supporting partner of Business Objects in this case, have been asked by Business Objects to provide you with rollout details for SAP Service Marketplace on their behalf.
Your S-User ID:
Your customer number:
Dear ,
We are pleased to welcome you as a new superadministrator of SAP Service Marketplace. Within the next days you should receive a letter with your personal user ID and password for accessing SAP Service Marketplace.
One of the advantages of the Business Objects integration into SAP is the utilization of a common support infrastructure, including SAP Service Marketplace as the central pillar of this infrastructure.
Starting July 7 2008, the proven SAP Global Support Backbone will be used to support Business Objects solutions as well. This will provide benefits for all customers and partners of Business Objects. Please keep in mind that the Business Objects support offering has not changed – only the interface for offering it.
As a primary contact of your company for Business Objects, you will find above your personal user ID for SAP Service Marketplace and some information about the first steps you should take. The support integration will be fully completed by July 7 – your starting date for SAP Service Marketplace!
General information
SAP Service Marketplace contains various target group-specific portals that enable collaboration between Business Objects and its customers and partners. As a central Internet platform, it offers you a wide range of information and services. You can log on to SAP Service Marketplace using your internet browser* by entering the following address: http://service.sap.com.
Your portal for all support-related questions is the SAP Support Portal, providing you with centralized access to all the information and applications you need to optimally run your solution. This portal is also used by partners of Business Objects, for example to create customer messages (cases) on behalf of their customers. You can access the portal directly using the link http://service.sap.com/support.
Allocation of SAP Service Marketplace user IDs
With the integration of Business Objects into SAP all named primary contacts have been assigned the role of superadministrator with maximum authorizations in SAP Service Marketplace. All current support users known to Business Objects as named contacts will also obtain a letter with logon data to SAP Service Marketplace. They have been assigned the following authorizations to use the support applications in SAP Support Portal:
| |
• |
|
Display customer messages |
| |
• |
|
Create customer messages |
| |
• |
|
Send customer messages to SAP |

Your first steps in SAP Support Portal as a superadministrator
As a superadministrator, you are responsible for administrating the user IDs of your company. Please take the following first steps in SAP Support Portal:
| |
• |
|
Log on to SAP Support Portal and check that you are listed as a superadministrator (select 'My Profile -> Display my Superadministrators'). |
| |
• |
|
Check the authorizations of your users (quick link http://service.sap.com/user-admin -> 'Search and maintain users' -> select 'Search' to view existing users, in the list of users click the relevant user ID in the 'User ID' column -> select 'Authorizations'.). All users should have the authorizations listed above assigned to them. Please check the authorization level and adapt it to your company’s needs (for example, create customer messages on installation ABC). For more details, see the online help and learning map for user administration (use the quick link /user-admin -> 'Documentation or Learning Map'). |
| |
• |
|
Check if your company’s e-mail domain has been registered at SAP. This is necessary to enable employees of your company to request a user ID (without authorizations) or a password change by using the self-services on the home page of SAP Service Marketplace. To check the domain, use quick link /user-admin -> 'Maintain e-mail domains'. |

If you do not receive the password letter by July 7th we kindly ask you to wait a few more days for it – it is on its way.
