Business Objects Names Marge Breya Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Seasoned Industry Veteran to Lead Marketing Organization as Company Executes on Growth Strategy

SAN JOSE, Calif. and PARIS - Dec. 11, 2006 - Business Objects (Nasdaq: BOBJ; Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that Marge Breya, 45, has been appointed senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In this position, Breya will lead the global marketing team and play an important role in developing and communicating the company's vision and strategy, and establishing its brand value proposition. In addition, Breya will manage the company's product line businesses, including the enterprise information management, core business intelligence, and mid-market teams. Breya will report to John Schwarz, CEO of Business Objects.

Breya brings more than 20 years of technology marketing management experience to Business Objects, and has been an important contributor to the success of some of the most well known companies in technology, including BEA Systems and Sun Microsystems. Most recently, Breya served as the senior vice president and chief marketing officer of BEA Systems. In her role there, she was responsible for all aspects of BEA marketing operations worldwide, including launching the company's Think liquid branding campaign, executing on the BEA go-to-market strategy, evolving corporate strategy, and coordinating all elements of an integrated, global marketing program. Prior to BEA, Breya was senior vice president, marketing for the global sales operations, at Sun Microsystems, where she was responsible for generating demand for Sun's products, solutions, and services and for growing Sun's market share worldwide through customized business solutions and integrated field programs.
