Business Objects Announces Support for Google Search Appliance and Google Desktop

World's Most Widely Used Business Intelligence Solution to Integrate with new Google OneBox for Enterprise and Google Desktop Search Products to Help Organizations Leverage Their Information Assets

AIIM Conference & Expo, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - May 16, 2006 - Business Objects (Nasdaq: BOBJ; Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced a new solution that allows customers of the Google Search Appliance and Google Desktop to search and retrieve corporate information. With this integration, joint customers of Business Objects and Google using the new Google OneBox for Enterprise will be able to access a wide range of structured and unstructured data in a single search. Business Objects will also provide Google Desktop users with one-click access to the countless Crystal Reports® that reside on an individual's hard drive, as well as those that are embedded in thousands of packaged software applications used by businesses today. As part of today's announcement, Business Objects also joined the Google Enterprise Professional partner program.

A new feature of the Google Search Appliance, Google OneBox for Enterprise delivers relevant, up-to-date information from enterprise sources, such as CRM, ERP and business intelligence systems, based on a user's search query. The Business Objects solution will allow Google Search Appliance customers to quickly search by any type or category of Business Objects content and obtain valuable, trusted information they can use to make better decisions and improve their business performance. For example, a user could run a search on the name of their most important customer, and it would return all information related to that account, such as contracts, emails, maps, and presentations, as well as Business Objects related content such as Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence™ documents.

As a result of a rich history of innovation, significant adoption from the developer community, and OEM agreements with hundreds of independent software providers over the years, Crystal Reports is now the de facto standard for reporting. By enabling people to access Crystal Reports via Google Desktop, Business Objects is providing users with an easy way to unlock data from one of the most popular information sharing formats on the market today.

"As the leader in business intelligence, customers turn to Business Objects to obtain trusted corporate information they can use to improve operations and performance," said John Schwarz, CEO of Business Objects. "Google, the leader in search technology, allows anyone to easily find content stored on their desktop. By combining the strengths of Business Objects and Google technology, individuals will have a powerful solution to quickly discover the precise information they are looking for, regardless of where it resides."

"Today's announcement is great news for our joint customers," said Dave Girouard, vice president and general manager of Google Enterprise. "Organizations are constantly seeking to improve the quality and completeness of the information they use to make decisions, and by enabling our joint customers to search for business intelligence information from Business Objects, we are providing them with a powerful tool for accessing corporate information."

The Google Enterprise Professional program includes developers, consultants, and independent software vendors that provide value-added services for Google enterprise products. For more information on the Google Enterprise Professional program, please visit www.google.com/enterprise/gep.
