Raúl Véjar
Executive Vice President

Raúl Véjar was appointed executive vice president at Business Objects, an SAP company, in April 2008, and is a member of the Business Objects Executive Team. He assumed the responsibilities of program co-lead for all SAP and Business Objects integration activities, together with integration program co-lead Janet Wood. Véjar reports to John Schwarz, CEO of Business Objects and member of the Executive Board of SAP AG, with a dotted reporting line to SAP Co-CEO Henning Kagermann.

In this role, Véjar is responsible for helping realize the synergies between the SAP and Business Objects companies, while preserving the characteristics of Business Objects that made the company successful. This will provide the best foundation for continued success in penetrating and retaining a large non-SAP-centric customer base.

Previously, Véjar served as executive vice president of Corporate Strategy Group, providing the Office of the CEO and the SAP Executive Board with consulting and strategic guidance on a range of competitive, operational, and organizational issues. He joined SAP AG in 1990. In 1994 he founded and became managing director of the SAP Mexico subsidiary. He was appointed regional president of SAP Latin America in 1999. Under his seven-year leadership, SAP Latin America achieved significant penetration of the markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining SAP, Véjar managed information systems for Novum Corporation, a chemical and pharmaceutical company in Mexico City.

Véjar earned his bachelor's degree in computer sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, and an MBA from Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium.
