David Kennedy is senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Business Objects, an SAP company. He reports directly to Michael Junge, general counsel of SAP, and by dotted line to John Schwarz, CEO of Business Objects and member of the Executive Board of SAP AG.
During his career at Business Objects, Kennedy has led initiatives relating to mergers and acquisitions, business development, intellectual property, corporate compliance, litigation, corporate finance, and work with federal, state, and non-U.S. governments.
Kennedy joined Business Objects from IBM, where he served as associate general counsel for IBM Information Management. During his tenure at IBM, he also spent several years in Paris where he was the chief legal counsel for IBM Global Services in Europe and oversaw European litigation. Kennedy has served as counsel to a broad cross-section of IBM business units, including the PC business, Global Network, Sales and Distribution, and Global Finance.
Kennedy received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut School of Business Administration and a juris doctor degree from the University Connecticut School of Law.
