Constituted in 1997 by the Treasury Ministry (now the MEF - Ministry of Economics and Finance) which is sole shareholder, it is active in two areas: technical and project consultancy for the management and development of information services for the MEF; setting up a program to rationalize public expenditure on goods and services through innovative purchasing procedures.
With 2006 revenue of $12.6 billion and more than 20,000 employees worldwide, Columbus, Ohio-based American Electric Power (AEP) is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States. AEP delivers electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states, owns 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity, and maintains a 39,000-mile electricity transmission network.
Stevenage Borough Council delivers services to 70,000 people living in Stevenage, England. In common with other local authorities across England and Wales, the council is keen to create a strong performance management culture.
The number almost defies imagination, but here it is: Emdeon Business Services, the leading processor of healthcare transactions in the United States, distributes up to 800,000 text-based reports a day. Business Objects, an SAP company, is helping Emdeon replace these paper-based reports with Internet access for claims research using Crystal Reports®, Web services, an underlying Oracle database, and the company's own Emdeon Vision application for report distribution and claims processing.
The RGS data warehouse collects the data from all the management systems and distributes them through the various data marts to the Inspectorates. Using Dashboard Manager, Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports, users have access through the gateway to predefined reports or can create new ones with BusinessObjects Client/Server.
